About the Company

After 20 years of moving up the corporate ladder at a well-established insurance company, Nina Stratton had an innovative idea and in 1984 founded The Stratton Company, the first employee benefits insurance agency in the Portland area owned by a woman. She capitalized on a radical departure from the traditional offerings of health insurance companies and became a key player in bringing HMOs into the Portland market.
